Mobile Design & Micro-Moments
Google released information about "micro-moments" that aim to expand the knowledge of mobile statistics, as well as promote the use of mobile platforms and strategy across devices around the nation.
Whole Brain Digital LLC, a digital advertising and marketing consulting company based in Illinois already utilizes mobile design for clients like StepNpull, Cardinal Blinds & Shutters LLC, Cardinal Carpet Cleaning and more. Owner Nick Simmonds is determined to expand the use and enable brands to deliver outstanding user experiences (UX) to digital visitors on websites and social media. Here is a video that digs into such topics:
"As micro-moments multiply, consumers expect on-demand experiences."
Google’s VP of Marketing for the Americas Lisa Gevelber gives a glimpse of the consumer behaviors taking shape with the new micro-moments. Here are some key insights from the research:
Location, location, location!
Nearly 1/3 of all mobile searches are related to location. People want to know who, what, when, where and how they can engage with your brand or company. Strategies like verifying all of your business locations through Google My Business allows people researching in the local market to know when your open, closed, and even see content you share on search engine results pages.
Don't you believe your product/service is #1 already?
Research suggests that online queries for "best" have grown by more than 80% over the past two years. (2018) This is important because it brings up the fact that people are no longer looking for what is around, but what will meet their expectations and exceed them.
"Word of mouth travels fast"
89 percent of people are likely to recommend a brand after a positive mobile experience. Nearly 90% is a staggering statistic for brand recommendations. If you consider this statistic substantial, imagine the opposite if your brand delivers a negative or annoying mobile experience. Scary!
Embrace Mobile, win more
Companies all over the world are embracing the use of mobile because they know it is driving technology development and a ton of sales. Every industry is different, some websites covert the majority of their customers via mobile.
For example, Spotted Savanna a charitable clothing brand that donates money to towards saving the giraffe population from extinction. This Whole Brain Digital LLC customer converts more than 63% of their customers over mobile, including iOS and Android devices. Without a mobile friendly design through Shopify or Squarespace the brand would be missing out on more than 50% of their revenue.
Takeaway
Whether your a large or small brand it doesn't matter, mobile search and design is shaping the advertising, marketing, and general business landscape as we know it. No longer can you build a site and just expect visitors to engage, better yet convert. Through the power of good strategy paired with mobile design, the customers attention is ready for the taking...
